Job Purpose
Provide specialized accounting support for the company's Human Resources function. You will directly contribute to the financial close process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for HR-related costs (payroll, medical, benefits, and workers' compensation), analyzing financial results, and providing actionable data to management.
Essential Functions
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or Finance.
Experience: 2+ years of hands-on General Ledger accounting experience. Must have direct experience "owning" a piece of the month-end close process (not just reviewing it).
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of US GAAP, specifically regarding accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets. Experience in a manufacturing or high-volume inventory environment is a significant plus.
ERP Mastery: Proficiency in SAP or a similar Tier-1 ERP system. Candidate must understand how sub-ledgers (AP/AR/Inventory) feed into the General Ledger.
Excel "Power User": Must be comfortable managing large datasets.
Required: Advanced use of Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
Preferred: Experience with Power Query or building complex data-reconciliation templates.
Analytical Rigor: Demonstrated ability to perform Variance Analysis-not just identifying that a number changed but researching why it changed.
Operational Mindset: Ability to collaborate with non-finance partners (like Production or Warehouse managers) to gather data and resolve discrepancies.
Deadline Driven: Proven track record of meeting strict "Day 3" or "Day 5" month-end close deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
