Overview:

Consider joining the MX Holdings family as a Staff Accountant in our St. Louis, MO location. The Staff Accountant actively participates in the monthly close, drives automation and process improvements while supporting a strong internal controls system. 

 

The Staff Accountant will interface with Metal Exchange Trading Group personnel and assigned manufacturing locations; ensuring that accurate financials are provided in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that meet the requirements of leadership. 

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Performs financial close responsibilities including preparing and posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations and preparing financial reports in accordance with internal and external deadlines.
  • Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
  • Drives documentation of processes and procedures to support a strong internal controls environment.
  • Assists in the provision of information to external auditors for annual financial statement and compliance audits.
  • Partners with the risk management team to ensure internal broker trade data is complete and accurate.
  • Maintains ledger balances with third party brokers and ensure margin calls and trade settlements are executed completely and accurately.
  • Works with the commercial team to process customer claim activity.
  • Maintain srecords related to tolling accounts.
  • Maintains company wide fixed asset registers including collaboration with various departments regarding asset activity.
  • Approves and processes broker's invoices.
  • Develops inventory analysis reports and analyzes variances.
  • Reconciles third-party warehouse inventory reports to internal subledger balances, including understanding timing and ownership differences driven by revenue recognition, shipping terms, and operational cutoffs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education

 

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Experience

 

  • Preferred: 1-2 years of Finance or Accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
  • Ability to thrive as a motivated self-starter in a fast-paced, growing environment

  • Possess the highest level of integrity; serving as a trusted advisor to customers and colleagues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Experience with AI productivity tools preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorships are not available
  • Selected candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment drug screening and assessment
  • Must have regular attendance and be able to work on-site in our St. Louis, MO office

The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.
