Description
Kforce's client, a growing organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support general accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and full-cycle accounts payable. This role is ideal for someone with strong Excel skills, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This client offers a hybrid schedule, Monday-Thursday on-site, Fridays remote from home and depending on the needs of the office, salary and medical benefits, vision, medical & dental, 401(k) plan, opportunity for growth,
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and timely account close activities
- Prepare and analyze financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, corporate credit card charges, and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and file state sales tax returns and respond to related inquiries
- Assist with business licensing compliance and reporting requirements
- Maintain fixed asset records and support cash management activities, including ACH and wire payment processing
- Manage and update Excel spreadsheets for various markets, customers, and accounts
- Support audits, including external and tax audits
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and other departments to improve accuracy, reporting, and workflow
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- CPA preferred, but not required
- 5-7 years of accounting experience in a similar role
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting systems is a plus
- Familiarity with tax systems is a plus
- Knowledge of state sales tax regulations and filing requirements
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
