We're partnering with a well-established organization in San Antonio that is looking to add a Staff Accountant to its growing accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid accounting foundation and is looking to continue building experience in reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement.

You'll work closely with senior accounting and finance team members while gaining exposure to a variety of accounting functions that support the overall financial health of the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

• 
  
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate outstanding items
• 
  
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• 
  
• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• 
  
• Help ensure the accuracy of balance sheet and income statement accounts
• 
  
• Support financial reporting and analysis efforts
• 
  
• Review accounting transactions for compliance with internal policies and procedures
• 
  
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting schedules as needed
• 
  
• Partner with various departments to research and resolve accounting issues
• 
  
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
• 
  
• Contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy
• 
  

What They're Looking For

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 
  
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• 
  
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• 
  
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• 
  
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively across departments
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, government, or public sector accounting
• 
  
• Exposure to ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• 
  
• Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
•
