    Description

    The Staff Accountant supports day to day accounting activities for multiple manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include assisting with month end closing, SOX controls, cost analysis, sales tax filing and general support of the finance team. This position will work closely with the sites and functional managers to ensure processes and procedures are in place and are followed while seeking actionable improvement opportunities.Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Manage account reconciliation process for multiple accounts including banks, disbursements, and payroll accountsParticipate in month-end, quarterly and annual financial closing cyclesReconcile general ledger accounts with various registers and sub-ledgers and ensure timely clearing of all reconciling itemsAssist in preparing tax filings and supporting documentationCollect and manage documentation to adhere to SOX control compliancePrepare and analyze journal entriesAbility to learn multiple processes and aid in backup supportEnsure timeliness and accuracy of financial tasksAssist with external and internal control auditsAssist in special projects as neededManage travel & expense system to support users and ensure policy complianceSupport cost control initiatives to improve efficiency and profitabilityPerform ad hoc analysis.Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting or finance related field.3+ years of experience in a similar Financial or Accounting roleKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skillsSolid understanding of generally accepted accounting principlesDemonstrated awareness of all elements of a division's financial statementsStrong attention to detail, producing high-quality products and meeting deadlinesManufacturing industry & cost accounting experience#J-18808-Ljbffr
