    Description

    Job PurposeAmerican Golf Corporation is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Stamford, CT team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience with general accounting operations, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and audits. The role involves regular interaction with internal teams, external partners, and requires a strong business acumen.ResponsibilitiesPerform daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.Help implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity.Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decision-making.Work closely with senior accounting staff during audits and assist in preparing necessary documentation.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, supporting tax advisors as needed.Contribute to the optimization of accounting systems and processes, including automation initiatives.Stay updated on accounting standards and best practices.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.1-3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus.Solid understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting principles.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to collaborate and support team goals.Working ConditionsPrimarily performed in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.Regular use of accounting software, spreadsheets, and other office equipment.May require extended hours during month-end, quarter-end, year-end close, audits, and other critical reporting periods.Frequent communication and collaboration with internal departments, external auditors, vendors, and business partners.Requires the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and occasionally lift or move office materials weighing up to 15 pounds.Compensation and BenefitsOpportunities for professional growth and development, including access to advanced tools and resources.A supportive and innovative work environment where your contributions make a difference.American Golf Corporation is committed to equal employment opportunities for all.
