    Staff Auditor – Ballenthin, Funk & Johnson, LLP About the Job A staff auditor should be able to work independently, complete work accurately and in a timely manner, and establish workload priorities. In addition, a staff auditor should contribute to a team environment, assisting those around them.Personal Attributes ReliablePositive attitude towards working environmentAbility to communicate to clients, staff, managers, and partnersJob Responsibilities Develop knowledge of GAAS.Participate during audit engagement file organization and documentation.Work with team during assessment of audit risk, planning, and design of audit proceduresUnderstand and utilize Audit Methodology employed by the firmPrepare and perform substantive testing on client's balance sheets and income statementsObtain an understanding and assessment of client's internal controls and making recommendations for improvement through the risk assessment processAudit more simplistic areas and transactions and assist with preparing client deliverable reportsIdentify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to Senior, Managers and PartnersAssist to identify and make improvements of performance on engagementsEnsure professional development through active continuing professional educationParticipate in firm wide initiatives including recruitmentJob Requirements 0 – 3 years of current or recent public accounting experience providing financial statement auditing servicesMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similarUnderstanding of audit services with developing knowledge of GAAP and GAASCPA license or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA license, including required courseworkStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, demonstrated experience or ability to act as in-charge on audit sectionsHow to apply Thank you for your interest in Ballenthin, Funk & Johnson.
