About the Opportunity
Grade Potential connects tutors with local families in San Marcos & surrounding areas seeking personalized academic support. We currently have a specific family requesting a high school AP Statistics tutor for their student and are looking to fill this placement quickly. This is a targeted opening tied to an active student match, not a general/ongoing posting.
What You'll Do:
- Provide one-on-one statistics tutoring, in-person or virtually depending on family preference
- Work directly with the assigned student on an agreed schedule
- Log sessions and communicate progress through Grade Potential's tutor tools
This opportunity is a great fit for teachers looking for supplemental income, educators, recent college grads, or subject-matter experts who enjoy in-person work.
The student is a high school senior and is currently falling behind in her AP Statistics coursework and homework. She needs additional academic assistance to get caught up in her coursework, improve her understanding of the material, and successfully pass her senior year.
The wants 1 hour sessions 2 times a week during her available times. She is available Monday & Friday 4pm-9pm, Wednesday 5pm-9pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 10am-5pm.
The family is looking for a tutor to meet in person at their home in San Marcos not far from Mahogany Park.
Job Type: Part Time
Location: San Marcos, California (serving nearby San Diego area)
Compensation: $25-$30/hr
Requirements
- Due to insurance requirements, tutors must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be authorized to work physically within the United States.
- To meet our safety and diligence standards, a background check is conducted before meeting with any students.
- Fluency in Statistics. Family is asking for a tutor with AP Statistics experience.
- Prior tutoring, teaching, or language-instruction experience preferred
- Comfortable working with high school students
- Available within 10-12 miles of San Marcos, CA 92078, or virtually if applicable
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
