Tulane Video - ESPN+ Crew Member

Supports the Video & Broadcasting department to promote and enhance, through digital broadcasting of the Tulane University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. In this role students will assist with game day streaming production of Tulane Athletic events including camera operation, video replay, graphics, audio mixing, video shading, technical directing and directing on ESPN platforms and in-arena video board shows. Assist full-time staff with setup and breakdown of camera equipment.

Work within the broadcast team to produce live, multi-camera broadcast of athletics contests, ensuring all broadcast fulfill conference and ESPN production standards & regulations.

Help cover live and/or on-demand video coverage of various events such as press conferences, special announcements and special events.

Students will gain knowledge across all areas of video production. Working as a member of the broadcasting team is a unique and exciting way to experience college athletics and the gameday atmosphere.

The sports season runs from August 29, 2026 to May 20, 2027

REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL SKILLS:

1. Currently enrolled in classes at Tulane or local area college and in good academic standing.

2. A basic understanding of sports, such as: Baseball, Football, Basketball and other Olympic sports (Tennis, Swimming, Indoor & Beach Volleyball.)

3. Willingness to learn and expand skills.

4. Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.

5. Must have outstanding work ethic and strict attention to detail.

6. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, and available for off campus events or away contests.

7. Able to carry 25 pounds.

JOB DUTIES:

Operate broadcasting equipment during live events and games. Duties include:

Camera operation (on tripod or handheld)

Video replay

On-air graphics & score bug

Technical directing & directing

Audio mixing

Video shading

Production assist

Statistics

Timeout coordination

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

Most call times for games will be between two to four hours before games start

Games generally are two to three hours long, with baseball being longer

Usually two or three games a week (no more than 20 hours per week)

Each student worker will be given Tulane Apparel to wear for game day events

Free meals will be provided for most games

Scheduling will be done in monthly increments and emailed out

Close toed shoes must be worn, Preferably sneakers (no flip flops)

Pants/leggings should be worn for indoor events (Basketball & Volleyball)

You don't need to know how to use the gear. We will teach you! Sports are fun and we want you to have fun as well.

Qualifications:

• Active enrollment as a student at Tulane University
• A Federal Work Study Award (potentially)

Responsibilities:

• Assist with live production of home athletic events, including operating camera, switching feeds, and managing graphics during broadcasts.
• Set up, operate, and break down broadcast equipment before and after each event.
• Film practice sessions, games, and other athletic department content for coaching review, recruiting, and social media use.
• Assist with in-venue video operations, including replays and sponsored content.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the broadcast staff.
