Wave of Support Student Intern Position

Wave of Support is a campus-wide, collaborative program that supports students' mental and emotional health at Tulane University. The Wave of Support brings together the programs and services of the many existing student support offices with the goal of building a healthier campus by enhancing the holistic experience of our students in the realm of wellbeing. The initiative utilizes the Eight Dimensions of Wellness to redefine what it means to be a truly healthy campus while developing a community where members are prepared and encouraged to care for each other.

Work Hours
Interns are expected to work 8-10 hours per week and are required to meet for one hour every other week with Wave of Support professional staff. Additionally, interns may be asked to attend working group and advisory council meetings for learning purposes only. Attendance of major Wave of Support Events (2 per semester) will be required. Interns are compensated $13 per hour.
Intern Characteristics
Interns should be caring students with a desire to make an impact on the culture of mental health at Tulane. A key component of this role is sharing the authentic student experience, so interns should be comfortable with open, honest, and direct communication with professional staff and key stakeholders. Last, while class and exam times always take priority, we expect interns to uphold their commitment as their insight is crucial to the development of this program.
