Substitute Food Service Worker

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Food Service Worker. This position involves a variety of tasks, including food preparation, cleaning, shopping, delivery, and more. By ensuring the smooth operation of our food service program, youll play a vital role in supporting CAPSLOs mission and helping individuals and families in need.

What were looking for in the ideal candidate:

• Has experience working in commercial or institutional food service (preferred).
• Depending on the department assigned, a valid California drivers license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. For positions where driving is an essential function of the job, candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.

As a Food Service Worker, you will:

• Clean during production and following meal service, i.e., keep equipment, appliances, work surfaces and area clean and sanitized, wash dishes, pots and pans, sweep and mop, load and unload dishwasher.
• Set up meal service for classes.
• Load food transport containers into delivery vehicle, unloads empty containers.
• Deliver meals from a central kitchen using a CAPSLO vehicle.
• Assist with pre-preparation of food requiring washing, peeling and cutting of fruits and vegetables, mix and stir prepared foods.
• Be dedicated to the goals and objectives of CAPSLO.
• Use reasonable precautions in the performance of one's duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices, and act in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one's self, fellow employees, clients and children.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
