Substitute Teachers

Watertown Unified School District is hiring Substitute Teachers.

We are always interested in adding substitutes to our staff roster to help with covering absences! To qualify for a substitute teacher license, issued through the WI Department of Public Instruction (DPI), a person must:

We do need the substitute to hold a substitute teaching license from the Dept. of Public Instruction. Here is some information about what is required for that license.

1. Possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree.

2. Complete a 1-day substitute training through an accredited program or complete the online training program as required by Dept. of Public Instruction. Training is provided through CESA 6 or CESA 2.

3. After completion of the 1 day training, apply for a substitute teacher license with the Department of Public Instruction. Successfully complete the background check associated with the license application.

4. Keep copies of the payment screens. We will need to see that you have completed and applied for your license with DPI.

You will be contacted by WUSD within a 10 business days of applying for this position for further onboarding instructions. The WUSD pays $145 per day for substitutes. WUSD utilizes Frontline Absence Management as their subbing platform.
