A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects. Description
- Manage day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion and turnover.
- Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans.
- Review drawings, specifications, and schedules to coordinate construction activities and identify potential issues.
- Maintain project schedules and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor sequencing.
- Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, owners, and design teams.
- Monitor quality control and ensure construction is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule constraints before they impact project delivery.
- Maintain daily reports, project documentation, and records of field activities.
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and final turnover.
Profile
- Commercial construction Superintendent experience.
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Working knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in the field.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore is preferred.
- Ability to maintain schedules, documentation, quality standards, and jobsite organization.
