Superintendent

In this role you will be responsible for taking projects from conceptual stages through closeout. You will work as part of a team to provide the best design/build solutions on Large Data Center Construction projects.

Our client is a Design-Build General Contractor in Ohio who operates in multiple verticals but leading large Data Center Projects local to Columbus. They are looking for a strong Lead Superintendent with large project experience who is looking to lead complex projects and develop with their resources and expertise. Description

• The Superintendent is required to:

  • Perform all functions with honesty and integrity.
  • Liaison with owners/ architects/ engineers for the day-to-day construction activities of the project.
  • Develop and implement overall project work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Develop and manage the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with Ascension standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Manage and make decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Oversee work among all trades to promote and coordinate project operations.
  • Resolve local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor, and equipment schedules.
  • Manage labor relations with subcontractors.
  • Implement, review and approve mock-ups and associated testing.
  • Assist with maintaining project budget.
  • Assist in the billing process as it relates to Work-In-Place (WIP) and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Manage the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
  • Work with project staff on design changes.
  • Communicate with all entities keeping everyone fully informed.
  • May be required to facilitate meetings and or take meeting notes.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed.

Profile

The Superintendent will need:

• 5 or more years experience as a lead Superintendent responsible for leading large project sites in one or more of the following areas: Hyperscale Datacenters, Complex Industrial Projects, or Large Scale Vertical Construction
• Must be able to apply effective management techniques to maximize project performance.
• Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is essential.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills.
• Must have previous experience managing construction projects on large, complex and on multiple projects, scheduling and maintaining financial control of the project.
• 4-year engineering, construction management degree is preferred but not required
