Description

SuperintendentThe superintendent will be responsible for:Lead all day-to-day field operations for healthcare construction projects from groundbreaking through final turnoverOversee and coordinate all subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and self-perform crews to ensure project milestones are achievedDevelop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and actively monitor project progress against the master scheduleEnsure all construction activities are performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, contract documents, and applicable codesEnforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements while fostering a culture of safety on-siteConduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site inspections to maintain a safe work environmentManage quality control processes and verify that all work meets healthcare construction standards and owner expectationsCoordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities with authorities having jurisdiction and project stakeholdersWork closely with project management teams to identify and resolve schedule, budget, and constructability challengesLead subcontractor coordination meetings and ensure timely completion of project activitiesReview drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings to identify potential issues before they impact constructionCollaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, owners, and healthcare facility representatives throughout the project lifecycleMonitor labor production, manpower levels, and equipment utilization to maximize project efficiencyManage procurement and delivery of materials, ensuring timely availability to support construction activitiesIdentify and proactively resolve field conflicts, design discrepancies, and unforeseen site conditionsCoordinate installation of complex healthcare systems, including MEP infrastructure, medical gases, nurse call systems, and specialty equipmentEnsure compliance with infection control protocols, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), and project-specific healthcare requirementsMaintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, safety records, and project logsSupport cost control efforts through effective planning, productivity management, and resource allocationVerify subcontractor work is completed according to project requirements and approved quality standardsCoordinate owner-furnished equipment deliveries and installation activitiesAssist with project phasing, shutdowns, tie-ins, and occupancy planning for active healthcare facilitiesFacilitate punch list completion and ensure timely project closeout and turnover documentationMentor, train, and develop field personnel while promoting accountability and teamworkBuild and maintain strong working relationships with clients, healthcare administrators, trade partners, and project stakeholdersDrive project success by consistently delivering healthcare facilities safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standardsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
