Job Title:      Supervisor II 
Client:           Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company 
Duration:     12 Months (Possibility of Extension and Conversion) 
Location:      Davenport, IA 52809 
Shift:             2nd Shift – 2:00 PM–10:30 PM OR 3rd Shift – 9:30 PM–6:00 AM 


Description: 
Job Summary 

  • Supervise production, maintenance, and warehouse employees to achieve departmental goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. 
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations while ensuring employee performance, process improvements, and compliance with company policies and safety standards. 

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supervise and lead departmental activities to achieve objectives in safety, quality, production schedules, efficiency, and continuous improvement. 
  • Investigate and resolve system, material, employee, and process-related issues to improve performance and reduce operational costs. 
  • Monitor employee and production line performance, administer company policies, and take corrective or disciplinary action when necessary. 
  • Coordinate with safety teams, enforce safety regulations, and ensure employees have proper training, work instructions, and tools. 
  • Manage equipment maintenance, facility utilization, departmental budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience 

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in production operations. 
  • Strong leadership, employee management, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other computer applications. 
  • Ability to manage production schedules, safety standards, employee performance, daily overtime, and weekend operations. 


Desired Skills 

  • Experience supervising fabrication operations, including primary and secondary production, welding, machining, or painting. 


Education 

  • Four-year degree preferred. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with relevant manufacturing supervisory experience. 


Additional Requirements 

  • Must be willing to work off-shifts, typically 3rd shift, along with daily overtime and weekends. 
  • Weekend work is mandatory on a rotating schedule with other production supervisors. 
  • May be required to provide supervisory coverage across fabrication departments at Davenport Works.
