    Job Description

    The primary responsibilities of the TCHP Practice Supervisor are to direct the day-to-day business, technical and clinical support activities in their assigned practice. This individual is the front-line leader in the office(s), providing operational support in functions such as staff scheduling and coverage, quality patient access and care, employee hiring, training and development. The practice supervisor will work closely with and be under general supervision of the one-up leader (practice manager or administrator).

    Responsibilities

    Operations

    Ensures high accountability for operations within their assigned physician ambulatory practice. Acts as a resource to billing providers, operations managers, administrators, directors and support staff, for all daily operational needs. Focused on quality and efficiency of the practice within oversight to ensure patient satisfaction and patient access. Oversees and leads performance improvement initiatives. Ensures routine facility/equipment maintenance is performed, problems corrected and systems in place to ensure a safe and comfortable environment is maintained for patients and faculty.

    Staff Supervision

    Responsible for all aspects of staff management, including efforts around recruitment, orientation, retention and termination. May pull in next level leader(s) for support in respective areas such as disciplinary action and termination of staff. Responsible for managing staff mix, deployment and forecasting of staff to meet patient needs. Leads performance management efforts, including performance appraisal and evaluation season in collaboration and partnership with next level leaders. Ensure staff competency through training and maintaining continuing education requirements. Typically responsible for 3-8 direct reports.

    Administration

    May be asked to participate in organization-wide committees to establish and/or improve customer service and administrative plans and policies. Assists and works closely with management to develop capital and operating budget needs with budget expenditures. Monitors and analyzes fiscal areas (e.g. distribution, payors, aging and production) for their cost center(s). In conjunction with practice manager or administrator, reviews patient satisfaction surveys and ambulatory scorecard and help implement improvement initiatives as needed. Ensures quality assurance standards are met for patients. Patient volume is generally between 2,500-5,000 patient visits. Works closely with and interfaces with several Providers in the office to support in quality patient care

    Compliance

    Ensures compliance with state, federal and regulatory agency requirements for facilities, clinical care and staff. When appropriate, works with the upper management and respective Medical Director(s)/Providers to develop and implement new clinic specific policies and procedures. Ensures accreditations are maintained as necessary. Comply with research and sponsorship rules and regulations for research conducted in practices.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.



    YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 1-3years of medical office supervision or progressive health care experience, preferably in an ambulatory environment with physician interaction.
