What You’ll Do
  • Manage complex cardiac surgery patients including pre- and post-operative care
  • Support surgeory teams with procedures such as chest tube and pacing wire removals
  • Conduct daily assessments, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans
  • Manage arrhythmias, pacemakers, volume status, electrolytes, and infections
  • Facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and care coordination
  • Recognize and escalate clinical deterioration promptly
  • Document care using EPIC EMR and Sectra PAC systems
What You Need
  • Valid Missouri license and board certification in the relevant specialty
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiac surgery or trauma Level I experience
  • Proficient in managing complex cardiac patients with autonomous practice
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
About the Assignment
This role supports cardiac surgery stepdown care in a high-acuity environment, with a team of cardiac surgeons and hospitalists covering 24/7 patient needs. The APP will be responsible for comprehensive inpatient management, including recognition of deterioration and discharge planning, contributing to optimal patient outcomes in adult cardiac surgery unit.
