Position Summary
Under the direction of the, Administrator/ Clinical Director, the Surgery Scheduler is responsible for organizing and maintaining the OR scheduling systems,front desk receptionist duties, including insurance verification and assisting with the front business office routine functions.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Speaks to and approaches others in a friendly and compassionate way.
· Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with others, including physician offices, insurance companies, patients and others about insurance benefits and costs associated to procedures.
· Demonstrates appropriate time management skills, prioritization and task completion.
· Ability to handle multiple assignments or pieces of work at one time. The capability of working within a stressful environment under consistent deadlines, pressures and interruptions.
· Maintains the centers surgical scheduling and surgical bookings on a daily basis
· Coordinates with the Administrator/Clinical Director and team leaders on the center’s schedule at all times for any add- Ons, changes, or special needs.
· Monitoring and assisting with obtaining insurance verification for all cases and assure all cases have insurance approval prior to surgical date.
· Register all incoming surgical patients for procedures,
· Answer all incoming phone calls and direct incoming calls
· Demonstrate thorough organizational skills; able to create successful work flow processes;
· Maintains current competency while seeking additional growth and development.
· Assumes all other duties and responsibilities

· Spanish speaking is a plus
· Experience using HST Pathways preferred
Education and Experience
Required:
· High school diploma or general equivalency degree (EGD)
· Two years minimum experience clerical medical office experience
· Proficient Computer skills
Preferred:
· ASC scheduling experience
· Microsoft Office Specialist certifications
Physical Requirements:
· The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is required to lift, and occasionally carry equipment.

· Medical facilities need to be as clean as possible, and excellent hygiene is required to keep patients clean and safe from sickness and infection.
· Has Category 2 risk: tasks do not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues; but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
