    Tax Director | Public Accounting | Atlanta, GA

    A highly respected and growing public accounting firm in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Tax Director to join their collaborative, client-focused team. This is a senior leadership opportunity with one of the most well-regarded firms in the country — ideal for a seasoned tax professional ready to drive strategic impact across a diverse and dynamic client base.

    As a trusted advisor, the Tax Director will embody the firm's commitment to character — leading with integrity, accountability, and a consultative mindset in every client engagement. The firm serves clients across a broad range of industries including manufacturing/distribution, real estate, construction, technology, transportation, private equity, financial services, staffing, and professional services.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and approve complex tax returns and audit-related tax work
    • Ensure full compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations
    • Lead tax research and strategic planning initiatives for clients
    • Serve as a senior technical resource for both staff and clients
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax team members at all levels
    • Collaborate with assurance and audit teams on large, complex client engagements

    Qualifications

    • CPA license required
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation preferred
    • 8+ years of progressive public accounting experience
    • Experience representing clients before tax authorities
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency in tax software (CCH ProSystem fx or similar) preferred
