Description:
Join our Finance/Tax resource group in Pittsburgh, PA, as a Senior Manager, US Tax in the Aerospace/Aviation/Defense industry. This role involves overseeing US tax compliance, coordinating domestic tax matters, and enhancing processes. Responsibilities include tax accounting, special assignments, and supporting internal controls compliance.
Responsibilities:
Manage US income tax returns and domestic filings
Compile tax and financial data for decision-making and strategic tax initiatives
Provide analyses and recommendations to Senior leadership on US tax matters
Ensure timely and accurate compliance for estimates, extensions, and forecasts
Monitor tax law developments, design strategic tax initiatives, and update processes accordingly
Support IRS and external audits, including preparing audit responses and maintaining documentation
Assist with international aspects of US tax compliance
Engage in domestic tax credit opportunities and analyze internal restructurings and M&A activities
Manage gain/loss calculations and basis studies
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
Minimum 10 years of corporate income tax experience
Legal authorization to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship not available
Preferred: CPA, Masters in Taxation, or J.D.
Prior experience managing a tax team
Willingness to self-educate
Proficiency in Microsoft and Corptax products
Familiarity with ERP software, ideally Oracle and Smartview
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with a big-picture understanding
Team player with self-confidence, motivation, and ability to work independently
