Description

Position Summary:Responsible for leadership of assigned team, ensuring that all client needs are being met and that all New York State Supreme Court orders, contractual obligations and agency policies are being met.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Consults with and keeps Program Managers informed of activities, needs, and problems related to case management, staff issues, program mandates and court orders.
  • Supervises all members of team including caseworkers on all aspects for social work with clients, accountants on client fiscal issues, and team coordinators on client benefits and team coordination.
  • Supervise social work interns as assigned.
  • Evaluates performance of staff periodically with at least one written review per year.  
  • Initiates new client case conferences and assists team with development and implementation of service plans for new and existing clients. 
  • Collaborates with appropriate physicians, psychologists, nursing home and other health care personnel in client evaluation and treatment.
  • Liaisons with Adult Protective Services staff.
  • Coordinates emergency coverage rotation and serves as supervisory backup for on-call social workers (24hrs/day, 7days/week).
  • Assigns new cases with consultation with Program Director and Assistant Program Director.
  • Arranges for mandated training for social work staff.
  • Assists with hiring and discharging of team members.
  • Monitors Medicaid and Medicaid home care certifications and recertifications of assigned clients.
  • Ensures all clients seen at least once per month, including during caseworker vacations, per contractual obligations.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and environmental standards.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
  • Adhere to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance and health and safety standards.

 Salary Range: $67,500 - $69,900 per year commensurate with experience. 

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSW or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer literate; ability to work with a range of computer programs including financial data base such as Quicken and Quickbooks, Lotus 1-2-3 or other general ledger software, spreadsheets, databases, check printing programs, and word processing programs, as well as Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail

Working Conditions/Physical Demand:

  • Business office environment with phone and computer use.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, wet and humid conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to unsanitary conditions in client homes.
