About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive complex hardware development programs supporting next-generation wearable technologies, including smart glasses and audio subsystems. This role requires a strong combination of technical program management, subsystem development experience, and cross-functional leadership to deliver innovative hardware products from early development through New Product Introduction (NPI).

The ideal candidate has experience managing multiple technical programs simultaneously, coordinating engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders, and driving execution across complex hardware development lifecycles. A background in audio systems, wearable hardware, consumer electronics, or other advanced technology environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for wearable hardware and audio subsystem development, driving execution from planning and development through key milestones and product readiness.
  • Own and manage multiple technical programs simultaneously, balancing competing priorities, dependencies, schedules, and deliverables across engineering teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and Designated Responsible Individuals (DRIs) to establish program objectives, align priorities, and drive timely execution.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, schedules, milestones, resource estimates, and deliverable tracking to ensure successful program outcomes.
  • Drive subsystem-level program management activities, identifying technical dependencies, resolving execution blockers, and escalating critical issues when necessary.
  • Partner with engineering teams across hardware, audio, systems, and related technical disciplines to align development activities and deliverables.
  • Monitor program performance, proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate program reviews, cross-functional meetings, and stakeholder discussions to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, risks, and priorities.
  • Communicate program progress, critical decisions, and outstanding issues clearly and consistently to technical teams and leadership.
  • Support program-level strategic planning, requirements gathering, scope management, and implementation planning across complex, interdependent projects.
  • Manage changes to program scope, schedules, and deliverables while maintaining alignment with overall business and technical objectives.
  • Apply structured program management methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles, where applicable, to improve execution and delivery.
  • Establish effective communication and coordination practices across multiple programs to improve visibility, accountability, and overall program performance.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience in subsystem-level technical program management, including coordinating engineering deliverables, dependencies, and technical milestones.
  • Experience supporting audio systems, audio hardware, or audio subsystem development.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical programs involving multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs within a hardware, consumer electronics, or technology development environment.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, technical dependencies, program schedules, risk management, and milestone tracking.
  • Experience coordinating Designated Responsible Individuals (DRIs) and driving accountability across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear program updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and resolve complex program execution challenges.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a large technology company or Big Tech environment, particularly within consumer electronics or hardware product development.
  • Experience supporting wearable hardware, smart glasses, mixed reality (MR), augmented reality (AR), or other connected-device technologies.
  • Direct experience managing audio subsystem development programs.
  • Experience driving hardware development from early-stage design and validation through NPI and production readiness.
  • PMP certification or other recognized project/program management certification.
  • MBA or another advanced degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • Experience coordinating hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, optical, audio, or systems engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with structured product development methodologies, engineering change management, and cross-functional program governance.
