Role summary:
The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and performing preventive maintenance to optimize system performance. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to execute service calls, manage resources, and support operational needs. Adherence to safety protocols and effective communication with customers and colleagues are essential to ensure reliable and efficient facility services.

The Facilities Services team ensures the reliable operation of essential building systems, including HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and equipment, supporting smooth store functions. The team focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and quality repairs while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Members respond promptly to operational needs and collaborate effectively to maintain safe, efficient environments for associates and customers. What you'll do:

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Interpret layout plans and schematics to ensure accurate system setup and compliance with building codes.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
• Maintain and repair refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and reach-ins.
• Conduct inspections and repairs following federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations and safety protocols.

                     Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.

• Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
• Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration.
• Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
• Competence in operating heavy machinery and company vehicles safely.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical issues and collaborate with teams and customers.
• Capability to lead and mentor technicians while managing escalated service issues effectively.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program, Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located, Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
