Job Description
The Teen Programs Assistant permanent part-time (PPT) position will work under the direction of full time Teen Program staff to provide quality programs, consistent customer service to the public, while also assisting with the oversight of all Teen Program processes and administrative tasks. These tasks may include but are not limited to database management, email correspondence with staff and patrons, file management, research and development of new programs, training development, inventory of support materials, marketing, outreach, and more. Additionally, the position will work directly in programs to provide support to participants and expand program offerings across the city.

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Less than a High School diploma; less than 1 year customer service, office support, recreation program implementation or related experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing and Certifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher level of education preferred in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, Sports Management, Business Management Social Work or related field
Specialized training/education and/or certifications related to working with youth and/or teens, such as:
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE)
Relevant experience working with teens with regards, to programming, planning, engagement and facilitation
Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Drivers License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
