Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Assignment: Temporary, approximately 3 months / through the end of January

Temporary Accounting Specialist

Snelling Staffing of Lubbock is seeking an experienced Temporary Accounting Specialist for a local client needing immediate accounting support. This is a full-time, approximately three-month assignment expected to continue through the end of January.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) experience, a solid general accounting background, and the ability to step into an established accounting environment and quickly become productive. This position will work directly under the supervision of the client’s accounting leadership to assist with a backlog of accounting work.

This is not strictly a behind-the-scenes accounting position. The Accounting Specialist will also spend time on the phone responding to customers, answering questions, and providing professional customer support. Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset are essential.

Accounting Specialist Responsibilities

• Assist with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R)
• Help reconcile and clean up a backlog of accounting transactions and records
• Review and work with balance sheets and profit & loss (P&L) statements
• Prepare, review, and/or post journal entries
• Research accounting discrepancies and assist with account reconciliation
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Respond to customer calls and field questions regarding accounts, invoices, payments, and other general inquiries
• Enter and maintain accounting information within the company’s accounting software
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting, tracking, and documentation
• Work with QuickBooks as needed
• Learn and navigate the client’s Acumatica ERP/accounting system
• Assist accounting leadership with additional projects and backlog cleanup as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience required
• Good working knowledge of general accounting principles and processes
• Experience working with journal entries, balance sheets, and P&L statements
  
• Comfortable researching
