Temporary Safety Professional

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Safety Professional to support a long-term project in Sylmar, CA. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with project leadership to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and job site audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions to minimize risk.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee safety training sessions.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace accidents and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and compliance reports.
• Partner with site leadership to reinforce safe work practices and company policies.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to all established safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a safety role within construction, manufacturing, industrial, or related environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Experience conducting safety audits and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence teams in a fast-paced environment.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.
• CHST Certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
