Trade Finance Analyst AR | Commodity Trading | Houston (Energy Corridor)UNITY is partnering with a Houston-based commodity trading organization to identify a Trade Finance Analyst, AR to join its finance and commercial operations team. More than a traditional accounts receivable role, this position sits at the intersection of Finance, Accounting, Commercial, Operations, customers, and financial institutions and provides exposure to the full trade-to-cash lifecycle within an international trading business.
The AR Financial Analyst will take ownership of customer invoicing, receivables, cash forecasting, trade finance documentation, customer credit and AML/KYC processes, while developing a strong understanding of the commercial activity behind each transaction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage customer invoicing and accounts receivable activity from billing through collection and settlement
- Prepare and maintain short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts
- Support Letters of Credit and other trade finance documentation
- Assist with customer credit analysis, credit exposure monitoring, and risk management
- Coordinate AML/KYC documentation and customer onboarding requirements
- Reconcile customer balances, cash receipts, settlements, and related financial activity
- Partner closely with Commercial and Operations teams to understand contracts, vessel activity, pricing, and transaction economics
- Identify discrepancies and potential collection or settlement issues before they become problems
- Perform financial analysis and improve reporting, processes, controls, and Excel-based tools
Job Requirements- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Approximately 35 years of relevant experience in AR, financial analysis, trade finance, commodity trading, energy, logistics, or a similar commercial environment
- Commodity trading, energy, international trade, or trade finance experience strongly preferred
- Exposure to Letters of Credit, customer credit analysis, cash forecasting, or commodity settlements is highly desirable
- Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations, financial modeling, formula review, and data analysis
- Experience working with ERP, CTRM, or other financial systems
- Ability to independently manage recurring responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy, ownership, and follow-through
