Description

Duration: 22 Weeks Contract with Possible Extension

Position Summary:
  • The Orientation Instructor is responsible for planning and delivering the program's orientation curriculum that prepares newly admitted radiography students for success in the online didactic, face-to-face laboratory, and clinical components of the 18-month program.
  • Working under the direction of the Program Director and in coordination with the Clinical Coordinator, the Orientation Instructor introduces students to program policies, professional expectations, patient-safety and radiation-safety fundamentals, and the tools and habits needed to transition successfully into the health-care learning environment.
  • The role sets the tone for student professionalism, engagement, and readiness, and ensures that every incoming cohort begins the program with a consistent, equitable, and well-documented orientation experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of radiography program structure, professional expectations, and the transition needs of newly admitted allied-health students.
  • Working knowledge of radiation-safety and patient-safety fundamentals sufficient to orient students at an introductory level.
  • Familiarity with JRCERT supervision policies and program compliance requirements applicable to new students.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills for engaging and motivating a new student cohort.
  • Ability to organize and deliver structured orientation content and to maintain accurate completion records.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including active listening and the ability to advise and support students.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative, and professional learning environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and learning-management/student-information platforms.

Education
  • Associate's degree in radiologic technology or a related field (or equivalent experience / training).
