Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts within a 4-week cycle
• Holiday coverage required, including the holiday weekend
• May be required to float to like units or lower acuity units across 5 hospitals, excluding the ED
• EPIC EMR used across all units

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration (Temp or Perm, no EMSA)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only, no pending certs)
• CRRT, LVAD, and TNCC certifications preferred
• 2+ years of concurrent CVICU specialty experience with experience in a CVICU within the last year
• EPIC or combined EPIC/Cerner experience within the last 6 months required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required with 6+ months of continuous recent travel experience
• Skilled in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Experience with IABP, Impella, TAVR, and post cardiac surgery care
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• 1 supervisory-level professional reference required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular surgical and medical patients
• Manage patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring, mechanical circulatory support, and post-surgical recovery
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precaution protocols
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Returning staff and travelers may reapply after a 1-year separation
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no additional requests after consideration
• Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility, except LVNs/LPNs
• Candidates who have been on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months or more are considered local and not eligible
