Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical nutrition assessment and dietary services within a mental health and recovery setting
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for patients
• Monitor and evaluate patient nutritional status and adjust care plans as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient health outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility standards
• Float to other units as needed based on facility requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) if registered before 12/31/2023, OR Master's degree with CDR if registered after 12/31/2023
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) — required; must be in hand at time of submittal or provide proof of compact license
• Food Handlers Card (FH) — VA State ANSI-approved Food Handlers certificate program required for RDs in inpatient settings; must be obtained within 30 days
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
• Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD)
• Experience working in inpatient mental health or behavioral health settings
