Unit Information

Location: Houston, TX

• Number of Beds: 9
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 2 RNs (11a-11p)
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 2 RNs (3p-3a)
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Type of Equipment: Lifepack 15, C1 vent, Lucas, POC lab equipment
• EMR: Meditech Expanse

Position Overview

This position calls for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) who will contribute to the team providing emergency care. The ideal candidate should have experience in a busy emergency services environment and be able to work collaboratively with various personalities within the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Must Have:
  • 2 years of recent emergency room experience in a medium to high volume environment.
• Preferred:
  • Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN).

Procedures Performed

• EKG
• Peripheral IV (PIV) placement
• Ventilator management
• BiPap application
• Point-of-Care (POC) labs (Picolo, EPOC, Triage Meter)

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate will be flexible and adept at working with a diverse range of personality types.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• PALS
• CPR
• TNCC

Floating Areas

Willingness to float to other facilities and departments as needed.

Work Schedule

The position requires the candidate to work every other weekend and to complete 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week period.
