Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring Epic EMR experience, level I trauma center background, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Critical Care Float Pool at a hospital main campus
  • Float across multiple ICU environments including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
  • May also care for ICU/PCC patients boarding in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • 48 hours per week may be available for candidates interested in additional hours
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
  • Level I trauma center experience preferred
  • Experience floating across a variety of ICU units highly desired
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration
  • Medical exemptions only accepted for flu vaccination; personal or religious declinations not accepted

Additional Information

  • Deliver critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialty units as part of a float pool team
  • Navy blue scrubs required as part of dress code
  • Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible for this position
  • More than 3 call-offs within a 13-week contract may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks of the last call-off
  • No blocked scheduling permitted
  • RTO must be requested at time of consideration
