Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift position requiring neuro experience, CA RN license, and prior travel experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 392 staffed beds
• ICU unit with 1:2 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Floating required between like units as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Meditech charting system used
• Any scrub color permitted

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Prior neuro ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skills in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and cardiac drip titration
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and post neurosurgery care preferred
• Experience with ECMO, IABP, and TAVR preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in ICU setting including hemodynamic monitoring and management of complex, critically ill patients
• May float between sister facilities within the same health system as needed
• Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration at adjusted bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; flexibility with scheduling is expected
• Must be willing to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
