Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/PCU night shift position requiring prior travel experience and critical care/telemetry background.

Details

  • Work in the IMC (Intermediate Care/PCU/Stepdown) unit of a hospital setting
  • Unit maintains 24 staffed beds with an average daily census of 24
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Cardiovascular patient population including post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and sheath removal cases
  • Additional patient populations include CVA, renal failure, and pre/post hemodialysis management
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • 12-week assignment length
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Floating required to other units and sister Integris facilities within a 75-mile radius as needed
  • No block scheduling accommodations available

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required, no pending state licenses accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Current critical care and telemetry experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG/Telemetry course completion
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills in cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry monitoring required
  • Current and valid driver's license or state-issued ID required
  • Utility bill in candidate's name with matching address within the last three months required
  • Two supervisory references required
  • Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide intermediate/step-down level nursing care to cardiovascular, neurological, and renal patient populations
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
  • Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration skills preferred)
  • Administer IV therapy, manage central and peripheral lines, and perform phlebotomy
  • Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Perform wound care and manage isolation precautions/PPE
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO accepted per 13-week assignment, with no holiday RTO permitted
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position; minimum 1 year of travel experience required
  • Former Integris employees must have a minimum 1-year separation from employment to be eligible
  • Any gaps in work history of 3 months or more must be explained
