Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active NY RN license and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work on the MS/Tele unit of an acute care teaching hospital
• Unit assignment will be confirmed at time of offer
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• 13-week contract with 3x12-hour shifts, either nights (7p-7a) or days (7a-7p)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience required, with experience within the past 6 months
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and Rapid Response/Code team activation
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management required
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management required
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Tele unit within a Magnet-recognized, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized cardiac, cancer, neuroscience, and surgical programs
• Scrub attire limited to navy blue and/or white combinations
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without penalty
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked for the health system must wait at least 6 months before reapplying
• RNs residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted; LPNs within this radius are accepted
• Time off requests must be submitted at the time of application
