Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring EPIC EMR experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital environment
• Patient population includes higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, afib, and post heart cath cases
• Cares for step-down from ICU patients without vents or pressor support
• Manages heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotolol initiation drips
• Provides telemetry monitoring for cardiac and dysrhythmia management
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Floating to other like units may be required based on census needs
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing cardiac drips and heparin protocols
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to patients with cardiac and respiratory needs, including monitoring, drip management, and post-cardiac cath care
• Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience level
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the contracted campus for night shift eligibility on this unit
