Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and NC state or compact licensure.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister campus depending on booking
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC State or Compact) currently in hand - pending license not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide skilled nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
• Must complete pre-start modules (4-10 hours) prior to starting assignment
• RTO limited to a maximum of 4 days, with manager's discretion applied
• Only 1 holiday may be approved for time off during the assignment
• Local candidates not accepted within a 50-mile radius of the main campus
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Extension eligibility varies by shift: day shift travelers may extend once, night shift travelers may extend up to twice, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
