Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a NICU/Peds Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of PICU experience and prior NICU/PICU float pool experience.

Details

  • , N, NICU, peds med-surg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units
  • : Prior PICU experience required with comfort caring for NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric ED patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Must float within scope of practice per facility float policy

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
  • BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (certification pending acceptable at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years PICU experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • BSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Float pool position supporting multiple pediatric units based on facility need
  • Maximum of 40 hours RTO approved per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance
  • No RTO approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to start
  • Previous UVA permanent staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
  • External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
  • Not eligible to return once 365 total assignment days have been reached, regardless of time away
  • Candidates with previous NICU/PICU float pool experience will be considered in lieu of direct float pool tenure
