Description:
The CVOR Nurse Educator role is primarily focused on education and training within the CVOR specialty.
The nurse educator will work with a larger program that handles transplants, ventricular assist devices, heart failure, aortic work, robotic procedures, and possibly congenital heart surgery.
Candidates must demonstrate effective teaching and presentation skills.
Responsibilities include assessing educational needs and performance gaps.
The educator will develop targeted training programs and choose appropriate teaching strategies.
Direct observation of procedural skills will be required.
This role also includes evaluating learner performance and facilitating personalized instruction to address individual needs.
Identifying the learning styles of individuals is essential for effective teaching.
Candidates must implement teaching strategies that promote experiential learning and improve nursing education and practice.
The nurse educator will provide a safe learning environment and offer clinical supervision for learners.
Constructive feedback and timely evaluations will be a critical part of this role.
Knowledge of infection control, regulatory requirements, and national patient safety goals is necessary.
The candidate must be a member of a recognized nursing organization.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this position.
Travel experience is required for this role.
