Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) Travel Contract – Level I Trauma Center in Washington, DC
Travel to Washington, DC for a rewarding Emergency Room Registered Nurse job in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center. This 13-week ER nursing contract offers high-acuity emergency care, a strong interdisciplinary team, manageable patient ratios, and convenient access to Metro and bus lines in the 20060 ZIP code.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Setting: Emergency Department, Level I Trauma Center
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Charting System: Cerner

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
- Current RN license required at time of submission
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Experience with Cerner preferred
- Strong emergency nursing skills in triage, IV starts, central line care/management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Ability to care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Must be comfortable with weekend coverage and holiday rotation
- Two supervisor references required
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a busy Level I Trauma emergency department
- Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients presenting with a wide range of emergency and trauma conditions
- Perform triage and prioritize care based on acuity and patient needs
- Start and maintain IV access, support central line care, and assist with urgent interventions
- Interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Deliver safe, efficient care to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Collaborate closely with physicians, rapid response teams, radiology, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other support departments
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality patient care standards throughout the shift
