Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse for a trauma ICU in Tyler, Texas. The role involves providing specialized patient care in a Level I Trauma area, requiring minimum two years of ICU experience, trauma level I experience preferred, and certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with interdisciplinary support and advanced equipment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience including trauma level I; charting experience using Epic; active license in Texas or other compact state; must be in hand at time of submittal; RTO must be listed at submittal; previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler; onboarding to complete core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing; modules completed onsite during orientation; experience managing BiPAP/CPAP, blood products, ventilated patients, central lines, ICP monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV placement, ventilator management, and trauma ICU procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Community Hospital settings, LTAC, PALS, and TNCC certifications, previous travel experience.
- Float: ICU, IMC, and Telemetry float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Patient ratios: 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
- Daily census: 14 patients
- Number of rooms: 14; number of beds: 16
- Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- State or compact license required; all certifications in hand before start.
