MUST WORK 2 OUT OF 3 HOLIDAY BUNDLES (Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, NYE & NYD).
Chest tube insertion, Intubations, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, CRRT, Arterial Lines, Central Lines, Vasoactive drips, Ventilator Management experience is required.
Description:
This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse.
The nurse will work predominantly with a mix of ICU, sub-acute, and floor status patients.
Patient ratios are 1:2 for ICU patients during nights.
The nurse will occasionally float to other inpatient units as per facility needs.
The position requires every other weekend coverage, with a minimum of 13 weekend shifts per contract.
First-timers are accepted for the position.
COVID vaccination is required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted, pending completion of a COVID exemption form signed by a provider for medical.
The nurse will be responsible for the management of patients with multi-system organ failure, renal failure, ARDS, diabetic ketoacidosis, and respiratory failure, among other conditions.
The role requires comprehensive skills in managing ventilated patients, fluid management, and administering blood products.
Nurses will also be required to assist with chest tube insertion and removal, as well as manage central lines and arterial lines.
Strong skills in dysrhythmia management and interpretation of arterial blood gases are essential.
The facility supports an interdisciplinary approach to care with teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Pharmacy.
Daily census typically consists of around nine patients with a maximum of 12 beds in the unit.
