Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for pregnant females in various stages of labor and delivery, including admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-operative care, and deliveries (vaginal and cesarean section). The position requires adherence to clinical protocols and documentation standards specific to obstetric care.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/10/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district, BLS and ACLS certification, NRP certification, electronic fetal monitoring proficiency with AWHONN intermediate certification, 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, and at least 50 miles residency from the facility.
  • Preferred Qualifications: LRDP experience, labor with postpartum experience.
  • Patient Population: Females of childbearing years, pregnant at 17 weeks gestation, laboring, scheduled procedures such as cesarean sections, external cephalic versions, cerclage procedures, triage issues.
  • Responsibilities: Managing admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op preparations, and deliveries (both vaginal and C-section). Equipment utilized includes fetal monitors, Cerner, and Fetalink documentation systems.
  • Additional Information: Position requires on-call coverage for one shift per week. Must fulfill fixed notes regarding residency requirements and position activity.
