Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
Circulate in the operating room as required during obstetric surgical procedures across 4 ORs
Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, as well as sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment; high-risk L&D experience required
Active and valid RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR setting
Demonstrated competency in newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K administration, and newborn assessments
Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills
5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
ACLS certification preferred
AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
Experience supporting patients in substance recovery programs within an OB setting
