Description:
This position is for an experienced registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care.
The role involves working night shifts, typically three 12-hour shifts per week.
You will be expected to manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6.
Patient diagnoses will include conditions such as dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and others.
The unit has an isolation area for COVID-19 patients.
Nursing staff will utilize documentation systems for patient care management and medication administration.
Nurse will participate in a storm team and may be required to report during catastrophic events.
There may be a floating requirement to different units as needed.
A maximum of 7 days RTO is allowed, and specific weekend shifts will be required throughout the contract.
Candidates must have experience with managing various medical procedures and interventions relevant to the position.
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring, accessing ports, and managing surgical drains is preferred.
The ability to administer insulin and interpret arterial blood gases is essential for this role.
