Description:
This position involves providing care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients.
It is a medical unit with a high number of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes.
Staffing ratios aim for 1:4, but may be 1:5 based on unit needs.
Scheduling is flexible, allowing for self-schedule requests to accommodate preferred shifts before finalizing.
There is a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention.
Experience in telemetry interpretation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line management is needed.
Candidates must possess skills in assessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and recognizing abnormal lab values.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
Travelers must adhere to compliance procedures promptly.
