Registered Nurse (RN) - Med-Surg Orthopedics
Job Summary
This Registered Nurse (RN) position is for a dedicated professional to join the Med-Surg Orthopedics unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, Maine. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care to individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries or managing musculoskeletal conditions.
Working under the supervision of the Unit Director and directly overseen by the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse, the RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the State of Maine Board of Nursing regulations and hospital policies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment focused on patient recovery and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, wound care, and monitoring of vital signs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for Med-Surg Orthopedics patients.
Assist patients with mobility, pain management, and post-operative recovery.
Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic health record.
Respond to patient emergencies and provide immediate interventions as necessary.
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Prior experience in Telemetry.
MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certifications.
