Registered Nurse - Med-Surg/Neurology
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Janesville, Wisconsin. This role is situated within an acute care setting, primarily supporting Med-Surg Ortho and Neurology patient populations. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by utilizing the nursing process and collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety, continuous quality improvement, and adherence to established standards of care. Nurses should be adaptable and prepared to float to other units within the facility as operational needs dictate, demonstrating a broad clinical skill set.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, facility policies, and standards of care.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and comprehensively, adhering to established documentation standards.
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and/or hospital policy, including patient and family education.
- Actively participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
- Apply critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, appropriately escalating concerns to the chain of command.
- Be prepared to float to other units as required by facility needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Education verification required.
- Demonstrated experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
