Description:
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably, adhering to professional and legal standards.
Demonstrates competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, and planning.
Upholds standards of professional performance, including ethical practice and evidence-based research.
Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Education and experience should include successful completion of a competency-based orientation program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Must possess strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to make quality, independent decisions is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is crucial.
Must be able to listen actively and engage in effective communication.
Competency in the use of computer hardware and software systems is required.
Essential Functions:
Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care.
Communicates and collaborates with team members to ensure continuity of care.
Acts as a patient and family advocate.
Performs point of care testing as required.
Demonstrates high standards of ethical behavior.
Formulates decisions based on ethical principles and guidelines.
Advocates for privacy and security of patient and organizational data.
Assesses patient and family needs to identify potential care issues.
Develops and implements individualized care plans that recommend strategies for achieving outcomes.
Evaluates patient education needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies.
Initiates discharge planning during patient contact and facilitates smooth transitions.
Ensures accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
Assumes leadership roles and delegates tasks to assistive personnel.
Engages in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Participates in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes required competencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
